Today we issued a news release announcing the selection of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Optical LAN by the US Marine Corps to modernize its existing network architecture to a high availability Unified Communications solution at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina.
This installation will be the first fully Unified Capabilities IP-based network for the Marine Corps. Its purpose will be to integrate voice, video and data services ubiquitously across a more secure, and highly reliable, IP-based fiber network infrastructure. The OLAN design includes our Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ 1150E OLT and Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ 729GP ONTs.
With the Passive Optical LAN system in place, the US Marines can improve warfighter readiness by continuing to deploy the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ network solution that reduces their security vulnerability points, provides software defined technology, converges communication across a fiber-based network and provides the lowest total cost of ownership to the agency.
Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ extends a special thanks to our valued integration partner Black Box, who will engineer, furnish, install, secure and test the converged IP-based fiber network for the MCAS Cherry Point project.
